Submission Preparation Checklist

Please ensure that your submission is complete, professionally prepared, and adheres to all journal requirements. Carefully review your manuscript one final time and ask yourself: Can anything be improved in terms of clarity, coherence, or completeness?

Submission Checklist

Use the following checklist to guide your submission:

  • The manuscript complies with the Author Guidelines provided by JPRP and follows formatting based on APA Manual (7th edition).
  • The submission is original, previously unpublished, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • A clearly written cover letter is included, highlighting the originality, significance, and relevance of the manuscript. It must include:
    • Article title
    • Full names of all authors (in authorship order)
    • Institutional affiliations
    • Valid email addresses
    • Designation of the corresponding author with full contact details (email and postal address)
  • Manuscript is submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format only.
  • All identifying details (names, affiliations, nationality, and ethnic background) are omitted from the manuscript to maintain double-blind peer review.
  • The text is double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, and uses italics where appropriate (not underlining).
  • All tables, figures, and images are embedded within the manuscript at appropriate places, each accompanied by clear titles, legends, and numbered in Arabic numerals (APA style).
  • Include a title page with:
    • Manuscript title (maximum 12 words)
    • Author(s) details
    • Financial disclosure statement (if any)
    • Conflict of interest declaration
    • Author contributions (optional but encouraged)
  • Submission declaration confirming the work is original and unpublished is included.
  • Permission letters are attached for any copyrighted or previously published material used.
  • Issues related to publication ethics, including:
    • Research ethics approval (where applicable)
    • Informed consent (for studies involving human participants)
    • Patient confidentiality
    • Proper authorship declaration
    • Data availability and ethical use of AI (if applicable)
  • Plagiarism report is attached with a similarity index ≤19%.
  • Spelling and grammar have been thoroughly checked. (Non-native English speakers are encouraged to use professional language editing services such as Grammarly, American Journal Experts, Editage, Enago, or Bioscience Editing Solutions).
  • The manuscript fits within the Aims & Scope of JPRP. Authors have selected the appropriate article type:
    • Empirical Research Article (Max. 6,000 words)
    • Systematic Review (Max. 5,000 words) (Word limits exclude references, figures, and appendices.)
  • An abstract (max. 250 words) and four to five keywords are included.
  • References are properly formatted in APA 7th edition style, where available, URLs or DOIs for the references must be included.

How to Submit?

The Journal of Psychology: Research & Practice (JPRP) accepts online submissions only. You must create an account (if not already registered) to submit your manuscript. Once logged in:

  • Agree to the journal’s terms and conditions
  • Fill in submission fields (tabs include Manuscript Info, Authors, Upload Files, Declarations, etc.)
  • Upload all required files in their respective categories
  • Complete the final checklist and submit

Publication Fees

The Journal of Psychology: Research & Practice (JPRP) is not currently charging any fee for publication or processing.

Source of Funding

The Virtual University of Pakistan shall provide full financial support for the journal, covering all operational costs, including accreditation fees, ISSN registration charges, and any other expenses necessary to ensure its effective and uninterrupted functioning.
