Manuscript Requirements
The Journal of Social Sciences and Educational Practices welcomes original, unpublished research contributions in the field of education, with a particular focus on varied contexts of learning environments. Submissions must not be under consideration by any other journal.
Manuscript Types Accepted

- Theoretical/Conceptual Papers

- Book Reviews (by editorial invitation only)
Submission Method
All manuscripts must be submitted online via the Submission Portal available on the journal’s official website (https://journal.vu.edu.pk/Pages/login.aspx). The title page (uploaded separately)
must include author names, institutional affiliations, emails, country, and ORCID iDs.

|
- Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files.
- Ensure that the document is formatted in 1.5 spacing, Times New Roman, font size 12 pt.

Article Length
|
- Manuscripts should be 6000-8000 (Research Article), excluding references and appendices.
- Longer manuscripts may be considered based on scholarly merit.

Title Page (Separate File)
|
Include the following author details on a separate cover page:
- Full name of each author
- Institutional affiliation and country
- Email addresses (including one corresponding author)
- ORCID if available

Article Title
|
- Titles should be concise and informative, not exceeding 20 words.
- Avoid abbreviations, jargon, or symbols in the title.
|

Abstract
|
- A structured abstract of 200–250 words must summarize the research.
- It should include background, objectives, methods, key findings, and implications.
|

Keywords
|
- Provide 5 to 10 keywords immediately after the abstract.
- Keywords should reflect key themes, concepts, or methods used.

Article Type & Classification
|
- JSSEP only accepts original research articles.
- Follow APA 7th Edition formatting and referencing guidelines.

Manuscript Structure

The main text should be organized as follows:
- Title (without author details)
- Abstract and Keywords
- Introduction
- Literature Review (optional as separate section)
- Methodology / Materials and Methods
- Analysis and Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion and Implications
- Acknowledgements (if applicable)

Tables/ Figures
|
Tables and figures must be numbered and titled clearly. Use APA 7 formatting for all in-text references, tables, and figures.

|
- All in-text citations and the reference list must follow APA 7th Edition.
- The reference list should be comprehensive, up-to-date, and formatted correctly.

Plagiarism Policy
- All submissions undergo plagiarism screening (Turnitin) following HEC’s threshold of ≤19% similarity and ≤5% from any single source.
AI Use Policy:
Authors must transparently declare the use of any Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Elicit) in manuscript preparation or analysis.
- Specify the tool used, its function, and where it was applied.
- AI cannot be credited as an author.
- Authors remain fully responsible for the originality and ethical integrity of the work.
- Undeclared or inappropriate AI use constitutes research misconduct.
- AI level must be below 20% (Turnitin screening).
Reporting Standards and Requirements for Publication
Manuscript approval for publication in the Journal of Social Sciences and Educational Practices is contingent upon compliance with established ethical standards.
Ethical Considerations in Submission
Authors must confirm that:
1. The submission is original and not under review elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
2. Authors must properly acknowledge others' work and cite all sources that significantly influenced their research.
3. Authors must disclose any financial or relevant conflicts of interest that could affect the study’s outcomes or interpretation. All sources of funding should also be clearly stated.
4. All co-authors have approved the manuscript.
5. Data has been collected following ethical standards.
6. Plagiarism is below 15% (Turnitin report may be requested).
7. Authors are responsible for promptly informing the journal editor of any significant errors in their published work and must cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
Peer Review
All papers undergo a double-blind peer-review by at least two independent reviewers.
Publication Charges
JSSEP does not charge any publication or article processing fees (APCs) from authors.
Source of Funding
The Virtual University of Pakistan will be responsible for all financial support related to the journal, including accreditation fees, ISSN registration charges, and any other associated expenses required for its smooth operation.
Submission Process
The entire process from submission to publication generally takes 4-6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the paper.

Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing free distribution with proper citation.
