Nirajan Bohara
Abstract:
This paper aims to explore the incorporation of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in Nepal's pedagogical context. Likewise, this research focuses on the impact of ICT tools on students, examines communication, technology-enhanced collaboration, and technology-assisted learning activities to develop reasoning skills and cognitive development. This study adopted a qualitative conceptual research design on existing literature. The research paper is grounded in peer-reviewed journal articles and academic books, which served as the primary sources of information. Thematic analysis was adopted using Braun & Clarke to synthesize educational challenges, integration of technology, and findings obtained from the review of literature. It poses meaningful learning, transformative pedagogies, and real-life educational settings. Most importantly, ICT fosters communication, collaboration, and a shift to student-centered pedagogy. Moodle, Zoom, and blended learning models have enhanced interactivity in classroom learning. This paper employs a qualitative, conceptual framework and critical approaches, combining a literature review with reflective observation to integrate ICT implementation in Nepali classrooms. Nepal faces various challenges, including limited teacher training, insufficient infrastructure, and digital literacy gaps. Findings revealed ICT as a catalyst for transformative learning, digital Integration and ICT as a facilitator, and learning through ICT integration. National policies strengthen effective implementation and ICT acceptance through continuous monitoring in the learning domain. The study foregrounds blended learning to enrich ELT (English Language Teaching) through inclusive and equitable access to learning. Implications drive transformative learning, community involvement, and interactive practices. Thus, ICT is a driver of transformative learning, highlighting critical thinking and digital literacy in Nepal's educational landscape.
